It Is Framed

It Is Framed

First street art exhibition in Poland showcasing the works of the world’s top street artist. At the same time, the first public display of the biggest and most important Polish street art collections.
The exhibition will feature works by Banksy, Cleon Peterson, Conor Harrington, D*Face, Escif, Evol, Faile, Futura 2000, Kofie, M-City, Nawer, Obey Giant, Roa, Robert Proch, Sainer, Seen, Vhils, and others.

“It Is Framed” is not only an opportunity to see works from private collections but also a chance to have a broader look at the phenomenon of collecting street art and the different strategies chosen by collectors in accumulating art which used to be restricted to the streets and now enjoys an immense popularity on the world art market. The presented works are an accurate representation of the entire street art movement and – what is important – come from different artistic periods of the featured artists. This allows to see and appreciate the predictions and conscious efforts of Polish street art collectors building their collections.

The works presented on the exhibit come from the collections of sosm.pl, Tomek Szpila, Paweł Kita and Maciek Malinowski.
The exhibition opens on the 8th of April, 2017, Saturday, at 7 PM.

Brain Damage Gallery
pl. Teatralny 1, Lublin,
Centrum Spotkania Kultur (Entrance from ul. Skłodowskiej).

The exhibition will be on display until the 17th of May, 2017.

The exhibition was made possible thanks to the support of the City of Lublin, as a part of the 2017 celebration of the city’s 700th anniversary.

1997-2017. 20 years of Brain Damage.

It’s 1997. The Graffiti wave is moving east as Poland goes West. Soon, Warsaw will become a temporary mecca of European graffiti writing. We create Brain Damage, the first Polish full-color magazine devoted to graffiti.

It’s 2017. For twenty years we’ve been actively building the graffiti and street art scenes in Poland and far beyond.

To celebrate this anniversary we’re preparing a series of special events. We will tell a few stories, we will share a previously unreleased material, we will publish something...

Stay tuned!
